WAVEFORM: the first installment in a series of group exhibitions presenting Los Angeles artists exploring innovative storytelling through emerging technology. Works investigate the interaction and translation between sound frequencies and light wavelengths, and propose new forms of agency in non-physical environments and in relation to intangible elements.

Laura Sofía Pérez and Chris Ryan Williams present I Ain’t Got No Spare, a performative and interactive installation exploring themes of the Black experience and the ephemerality of Black agency, using Los Angeles as a case study. With sound artist Davy Sumner, Choreographer Shauna Davis, and Video Programmer Martín Vélez.

Josephine Wang presents Spectrum, a multimedia installation converging sound and light in a performative environment, live-animating visible light spectrum with a wall of 800 LEDs through an algorithmic translation of audible sound frequencies. With Composer and Performer Tim Johnson.

Lisa Müller-Trede presents collider getting sick, a short virtual situation investigating impact as motoric guidance, as the body oozes in between.

Laura Sofía Pérez presents Grew Out the Concrete, a video installation that captures the afternoon lights and shadows cast on the sidewalks of City Terrace, Los Angeles through a slow-motion journey.
